I have been making some amigurumi, first of all a little robot, from Amigurumi by Lan-Anh Bui and Josephine Wan (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Amigurumi-Cozy-Lan-Anh-Bui/dp/1861086741/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318166323&sr=8-1):

He is very cute, my most successful project yet I think!

Also from the same book, though I changed the colours, I made this adorable little teapot:

It was a gift for my friend who passed her PhD viva, hence the diabolical pun!

Finally I decided to try an angry bird cardinal.  There used to be a free pattern for this on Ravelry however it was taken down, presumably for copyright reasons, which is a shame.  So I made it up, based on some pictures of those others had made.  I didn't get the beak right and he only looks angry at particular angles but he's still quite cute:

A seed was planted

My brother suggested that I start a baking blog, I said no, but here I am, 3 days later.  Having no job provides plenty of time for an idea to float around in that tin can of mine.  So here I shall begin a record of things that I have successfully (or unsuccessfully) baked, crocheted or constructed by some other means.

Recent projects with no photographs include:
  • An outstanding banana loaf courtesy of Mary Berry's Foolproof Cakes
  • A catastrophe of a victoria sandwich courtesy of Mary Berry's Foolproof Cakes
  • A cute crocheted bolero (thanks to Miss Crafty Fingers' Word Press page)
I shall post a few pictures of past projects as and when I find them and keep you (whoever you are) updated with new projects, patterns and recipes.
